Hiding a program from the Add/Remove Programs list is mostly done for security reasons.
All programs you install on Windows will appear in the “Add/Remove Programs” list (also known as “Programs and Features”, “Uninstall a Program”, and “Add or Remove Programs”).
From the list, you will find out what programs are installed. Maybe you want to hide a program from the Add/Remove Programs list for various reasons, such as
- You don’t want anyone to know if you have installed a program on that PC.
- To avoid accidental errors from users who remove the program.
- Protects programs from being deleted.
- Error removal of programs that still display entries on the list.
To hide programs or applications from the Add / Remove Programs list, you can do it manually by modifying the Windows Registry on
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
An easier way is to use a simple application from Sordum, Hide From Uninstall List.
