How to Fix Hard Disk Partition Not Showing in Windows 11

C. Create a New Partition

If you see “Unallocated” on a drive in Disk Management, create a new partition on that drive by:

  1. Open “Disk Management” Windows.
  2. Right-click on the “Unallocated” space and select “New Simple Volume“.
  3. Then follow the on-screen instructions to format and assign the drive letter.

D. Show hidden partitions in Windows

If the partition is hidden, you won’t see it in File Explorer. To fix this issue, you can use a third-party partition manager.

Applications such as MiniTool Partition or AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard can re-explicate hidden partitions. You can search for the application on the internet and a free version is available.

E. Connect the Hard Drive to a Different Port

Faulty cables or damaged ports can cause the hard disk to fail. Connect your hard drive to another SATA port on your PC’s motherboard.

If your drive still doesn’t recognize it, try plugging it into a different PC. If the hard disk is successfully recognized, it is likely that your old cable has been damaged, and try with a new cable.

And if the drive can’t be recognized on another PC, chances are that your drive has been damaged.
