Portable CountryTraceRoute v1.40 – TRACERT with GUI and country information

The TRACERT diagnostic program is a tool that Windows users often use to identify the path to a destination by sending an Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) packet to the destination.

TRACERT sends the initial packet with a TTL of one and increases the TTL once with each successive transmission until the response destination or maximum TTL is reached. This path is indicated by the ICMP “Time Exceeded” signal sent by an intermediate router. Then, TRACERT prints a list of intermediate routers that return the ICMP “Time Exceeded” message.

CountryTraceRoute

Based on the report from TRACERT, you will be able to determine on which router the connection is having problems. Unfortunately, you can only use TRACERT on the Command Prompt (CMD) command line.

CountryTraceRoute is a Traceroute software, similar to TRACERT Windows, but with a graphical user interface and substantially faster than TRACERT Windows.

CountryTraceRoute can display the country of each IP address detected in Traceroute.

Once Traceroute is complete, you can select all items (Ctrl+A) and save them into csv/tab-delimited/html/xml files by using the ‘Save Selected Items’ option (Ctrl+S) or copy them to the clipboard (Ctrl+C) and paste them into Excel or another spreadsheet program.

Key Features of CountryTraceRoute

  • Portable application, no installation required.
  • Very fast than TRACERT Windows.
  • Has a graphical interface.
  • Displays the IP address and country name.
  • Reports can be saved as spreadsheets.

CountryTraceRoute limitations

  • Does not support IPv6.
  • The tool displays the country name of the owner of each IP address found in Traceroute. Note that the country where the IP address is located may be different from the country that owns the IP address.

Supported Operating Systems

This utility can be used on all versions of Windows, from Windows 2000 to Windows 11. Both 32-bit and x64 systems are supported.
