To steal critical data from your server, hackers must first use a port scanner to map all live hosts and operating services. Incoming ICMP requests or connections to any port can be detected by tcpTrigger. When a connection is found, it can display desktop alerts or send email notifications, as well as run external programs or scripts.

You can monitor open and closed ports, as well as ports by listening to the current service. TcpTrigger can even identify ‘half-open’ connections, which are typically used by port scanners

tcpTrigger will automatically listen to all accessible IPv4 network interfaces, allowing you to easily monitor multiple subnets from a single installation. It also has Rogue DHCP Server Detection, which notifies you if an unknown DHCP server is detected on your network. This capability is only available for local network segments monitored by tcpTrigger.

tcpTrigger has a user interface the application has a relatively simple layout, so even an unskilled user will have no trouble setting it up.  Overall, tcpTrigger is a well-designed tool that can help you monitor TCP ports for incoming connections and prevent various forms of network attacks.
