How to solve the “no display” problem after installing new RAM

Step 2: Install RAM Properly

If you have already made sure that the RAM you are installing is compatible with your computer, then the next step is to install the RAM correctly. There are a few things you need to do, such as:

  • Turn off the computer and disconnect the power cord: Before installing the RAM, you must turn off the computer and disconnect the power cord from the outlet. This is to prevent a short circuit or damage to your computer. You will also need to disconnect other cables connected to the computer, such as monitor cables, keyboards, mice, and others.
  • Open the computer case: You must open the computer case to access the RAM slots on the motherboard. You can use a screwdriver or other suitable tool to unscrew the bolts or locks that lock the case. You should be careful not to damage the case or other components inside the computer.
  • Remove old RAM (optional): If you want to replace old RAM with new RAM, you must first remove old RAM. You can press the clips on either side of the RAM slot to release RAM from the slot. You should pull the RAM slowly and straight so as not to damage the slot or RAM. You can store old RAM in a safe place or sell it if you don’t need it anymore.
  • Install new RAM: You should install new RAM the same way you would remove old RAM but in the opposite direction. You have to make sure that the RAM has entered the slot perfectly and that the clip has locked the RAM firmly. You should also make sure that the RAM is aligned with the slot and not tilted or upside down. You can check the labels or markings on the RAM and slots to make sure the direction is correct. You can install more than one RAM if the RAM slot is still available and the maximum capacity has not been reached.
  • Close the computer case and reattach the cables: After installing the RAM, you must close the computer case and lock any existing bolts or locks. You will also have to reattach the power cord and other cables connected to the computer. You have to make sure that all cables are properly seated and that none are loose or folded.

If you have done the steps above, you can try turning on the computer and see if the RAM is detected and working properly. You can check your RAM by using a program like CPU-Z or Speccy, or by looking at the information in the BIOS (Basic Input Output System).

BIOS is a program that runs before the operating system and sets the basic settings of the computer. You can enter the BIOS by pressing certain keys when the new computer starts up, such as F2, F10, Del, or Esc. This button can vary depending on the make and model of your computer. You can look at the on-screen instructions or your computer’s manual to find out the right key.

If the RAM is detected and functioning properly, then you can continue using your computer as usual. If the RAM is not detected or there are still problems, then you should try the next step.
